The big happy up front--The Witch's Alphabet went from 79,000 words to roughly 120,000, with only about 3,000 words of cuts. Clearly, the book had more to tell me when I started editing. There's a wicked windstorm (as we say where I come from) blowing up right now. We've had a power flicker, and I devoutly hope we don't lose power completely, as that would mean I would have to get myself in the car and go to the cafe down the street to work, and I would have to eat a pastry.
